Weather buffs say that March often “comes in like a lion”. Well, that certainly is an apt description of all things Republican here in Charlotte. In fact, there’s been an unprecedented level of Conservative activism around North Carolina all winter long – those who predicted long, dark months of hibernation following the last election were way off the mark!
Our Republican legislature arrived in Raleigh fully prepared to continue the reform of our state government they began in 2010, buoyed by increased majorities and the Governorship and Lt. Governorship. Health Care, Regulations, Taxes, Education, Voter ID – they are taking on the task of untangling over a century of Democrat led bureaucratic growth and waste, and they’re doing so with unmatched fortitude and integrity.
Lest you be fooled, the Democrats aren’t sitting by idly watching change occur. They have unleashed their unified and well-coordinated attack machine with the stated purpose of “eviscerating” our leaders to try and stymie the changes they’re implementing. NOT on our watch!
We must meet them head on with an equally unified effort and that starts right here at home. I am so encouraged (and energized!) by the level of cooperation already well underway among our Conservative groups here in Charlotte. We must continue going to each other’s meetings & events, sharing resources and focusing on common ground.
CMRW is certainly committed to doing our part. We have launched our newly designed website – same address, www.cmrw.org, new look – enhancing our graphic, video and communication capabilities allowing greater linkage with social media and Conservative action all across the web. In today’s fast-paced political environment technology is key!
This will be the last issue of our semi-monthly newsletter, which will be replaced with a “Weekly Call To Action”. This affords CMRW with a more timely tool to keep our members and friends informed about upcoming events, important legislative matters and other items of interest.
